Rabbi Yisroel Brusowankin was born and raised in Avenutra, FL where his father serves as the Rabbi and founder of Chabad of North Dade for over 40 years. His wife, Devora Leah was born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where her father serves as the Rabbi and Director at the University of Michigan Campus for over 40 years.
In 2008 Rabbi Yisroel and Devora Leah moved to Aventura, Fl to continue in the footsteps of their parents of becoming community leaders andare inspired by the Lubavitcher Rebbe to do their part in making Judaism accessible, warm and vibrant for all.
As Aventura has grown exponentially in terms of area and Jewish demographic they saw the need for a permanent Chabad presence in the waterways area. Thank G‑d they have been witness to a renaissance of Jewish activity and pride in Aventura and surrounding areas. But there’s so much more to be done. In the Waterways area where they have lived for over 10 years there are thousands upon thousands of Jews of all backgrounds many with no synagogue affiliation and searching for a community to call home. They are excited to create a community where Jews of all backgrounds connect and participate in Jewish growth opportunities, social events, business networking and family activities in a warm and welcoming environment.
